What a scorcher the end of May turned out to be!
It certainly felt like summer arrived all at once, with temperatures soaring and many of us trying to juggle work commitments whilst also attempting to enjoy a little sunshine where we could.
And whilst the warm weather is always welcomed, working through those hotter days, whether in the office or from home, can sometimes feel incredibly draining. It can impact energy levels, concentration, productivity and even our patience in customer conversations too.
So, as we hopefully enjoy more sunshine as we head into summer, this is your little reminder from all of us at FIT to take regular breaks, stay hydrated and look after yourselves as well as your teams.
Something special
When a customer contacts your organisation, is the experience consistently professional, helpful and reassuring?
For many growing businesses, the honest answer is: not always. And that inconsistency can quietly cost customers, reviews and referrals.
To mark UK Small Business Week, businesses can access FIT’s Ultimate Customer Service Training Programme for SMEs from just £497 per learner (incl. VAT) throughout June, which includes:

- 18 hours of CPD-accredited learning
- A 12-month licence
- 90-day money back guarantee
Plus, we’re also including our FIT Welcome Pack containing:
- 64-page hard copy workbook
- FIT tip card deck
- FIT notepad
- FIT pen,
- Access to our private Facebook support group
- Our ‘Small Team. Big Impression.’ Action Playbook’
- Oh!…and a yummy chocolate bar as a bonus!
- …and as an extra special bonus we’ll also run a 30-minute online team Launch Event to get your people up and running immediately
The power in people
Strong recruitment is about finding people with the right mindset, emotional intelligence and ability to stay calm under pressure. The best candidates listen well, take ownership and focus on resolving issues rather than just following scripts.
When you get this right, you reduce turnover, improve consistency and create better customer experiences from the very start.
Take a look at our recent article on our website – the lessons will certainly help you avoid costly recruitment mistakes.
Smile!
Last month, we headed to Flamingo Marketing Strategies for a day of filming and photography.
Amid the awkward poses, staged training sessions and make-up top-ups, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day – and the ‘decorative’ pastries for the table were a bonus too!
It’s always fun catching up with the Flamingo team in person!
Keep an eye out for some new photos across our website and social media.
What separates the best from the rest?
It’s one thing focusing on customer service, but what sets the teams that take it seriously apart from those who don’t prioritise it enough?
Here’s a thought from David:
The best teams are rarely the loudest or most polished. They’re the ones who care consistently and treat every interaction as important because it either builds or weakens trust.
They stand out through attitude, not perfection. They take ownership, listen well, stay calm under pressure and fix things when they go wrong.
Good leadership matters too, creating clarity, support and accountability.
In the end, strong customer service is built from small things done consistently.
An exciting update!
You may have noticed from our social media that our brand has changed a little!
We’re introducing a new logo, a few new colours and… a brand-new website!
Our marketing partners at Flamingo have been working hard behind the scenes to make things a little tidier and bring our brand into 2026 – and we love it.
We’d love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time
